Queens Library is a vital borough resource for many of Queens’ 2.2 million people. Last year, nearly 840,000 members borrowed more than 23 million items from our branches to enrich their lives, making Queens Library #1 in circulation in the nation. In fact, Library Journal recognized Queens Library as the national Library of the Year!
As you know, these are hard economic times. Forced to make $8 million in budget cuts this year, we had to drop plans to buy 40,000 urgently needed new library books. Nothing could be more painful. But now you have the opportunity to give others a richer library experience!
Queens Library Foundation’s unique Buy-a-Book program has supplied thousands of new books to local libraries since 1992... helping to fill empty library shelves at our 62 neighborhood community libraries.
Please consider making a special, tax-deductible Buy-A-Book gift to the Buy-A-Book program and help us fill those empty shelves.
With each $25 you contribute, Queens Library Foundation can acquire an additional new library book. If you wish, we will also place your name, or that of a person or organization you designate, on a bookplate in each new book. For gifts of $500 or more, you will receive special recognition in a library of your choice.
Support Queens Library Foundation’s Buy-A-Book program and bring more books and resources to thousands and thousands from every walk of life and background, from toddlers to seniors. Help make sure there are many more new books on the shelves throughout our diverse borough, enriching the lives of the men, women, and children who make Queens.
