Corporate Sponsorship at Queens Library |
An Exceptional and Dynamic Public Library:Queens Library is universally recognized as one of the most dynamic public library systems in the nation. Its services have been featured in the New York Times, on Dateline New York, and BBC America. Libraries today are the center and hub of the community, offering a wide range of educational and cultural activities and electronic resources. Queens Library is in the forefront of modern libraries in the nation and the world: Queens Library is number one in the United States in circulation and number four in the world, with more than 21 million items loaned annually. With 63 local libraries based in every community in Queens, it serves the most diverse population in America (over 190 countries of origin) with over 23,000 programs. Each year, the highly professional staff of Queens Library develops new, innovative, ground- breaking programs that go on to serve as models for libraries and organizations across the nation and around the world. Programs range from early childhood learning and afterschool programs to literacy and English language classes for immigrants and cultural and art programs and exhibits to help with business entrepreneurship and employment opportunities. Queens Library also employs 400 teens, mostly from immigrant or minority families, to assist the public with computers, help young students with homework, assist educational and enrichment programs, and support library staff. The Importance of Private Support:Queens Library is a not-for-profit corporation independent of its sister libraries, the New York and Brooklyn Public Libraries. Although Queens Library receives government funding, we still must depend upon private support to sustain many of our vital programs and services and to provide needed books and materials. Therefore, Queens Library seeks contributions from like-minded organizations which support the Library's mission and vision, and want to participate on an annual basis in services and program initiatives that further the Library's work. The QLF Corporate Sponsorship Program:contact Executive Director Diana Chapin or Associate Director Peter Wayne to develop a specific program for your group.
The QLF Corporate Sponsorship Program welcomes partnerships with businesses that support and share the Library's mission. In return, the program provides opportunities for corporate identification boroughwide, print and electronic marketing, public recognition, corporate education, volunteerism and additional means of acknowledging contributions to the Library's work. The QLF offers a wide variety of benefits to contributors based upon the level of support provided to Queens Library in a given year.
